Support Kevin Kahmeyer After His Motorcycle Accident

Donation protected
My dear father, Kevin Kahlmeyer, was in a major motorcycle accident on Friday, 6/21/24. A car decided to make an illegal u-turn right as my dad was about to pass. He tried his best to stop and avoid the car but ultimately hit the side of the car head on.

Despite wearing a helmet he suffered significant injuries including:
  • A skull fracture
  • A spinal fracture
  • Multiple facial lacerations
  • Multiple facial fractures - both orbital bones, both cheek bones, upper pallet, lower jaw (including several fractures and dislocation)
  • 6 broke ribs
  • Right Shoulder Blade Fracture
  • Left femur fracture
  • Right tibia fracture
  • Right fibula fracture
  • Tear in his right knee

The doctors say that it's very likely he will be out of work for at least a year while he undergoes surgeries, occupational therapy and physical therapy. We learned that the driver who caused the accident has insurance, however, the attorney we consulted with said that most insurance policies have very low caps as far as what they will cover in regards to personal injury or compensation for pain, suffering, and loss of income. My brother and I want to do everything possible to insure my father doesn't lose his home or fall behind on bills during this very difficult time. Any assistance, even in the smallest amount will make a huge difference for my father and our family during this very difficult time. He's strong and we know the community will stand by him and he focuses on his recovering. Thank you!

Below is a picture of him a few weeks before the accident. He texted this to me telling me how beautiful the landscape was in Wisconsin.

More about Kevin: He is father to Kylie (myself) and Brandon. Before the accident, he worked at Pick n Save for nearly 8 years. in the meat department. He's loyal and loving and is the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loves action movies like Die Hard and the Terminator. He's the ultimate fan of the Grateful Dead and enjoys watching documentaries on big foot. He is 1 of 6 siblings, uncle to many, and is loved by everyone around him. He's just the kind of guy who just lights up the room.

He is very vocal and outspoken about his past struggles with alcohol addiction and actively celebrates every day of his sobriety. (He's going on almost 4 years sober and we couldn't be more proud of him!) He regularly attends a local AA support groups and uses his story to inspire others who are actively seeking sobriety and/or struggling with addiction. He celebrates god and often expresses how grateful he is for getting a second chance at life. He's determined to recover from his accident and get back up on his feet eventually. He is our miracle and we are so blessed that he survived. We want many, many, many more years to come with him.
