Stand with Kerry: Overcoming Cancer Together

Hi, this is Erin one of Kerry's best friends & an admin. Our beautiful angel Momma, who is always there for everyone else, now needs a little help from us. She became very ill at the end of Oct and suffered horribly until they figured out she not only had acute appendicitis but pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cancer that has spread into her liver and a few lymph nodes. She lost 30 lbs in a month. The appendix was leaking sepsis into her small intestines and stomach. She had the Whipple effect surgery & on 12/18, and the appendix was also removed, a stent put in her bile duct, and they are now talking about putting another stent into her duodenum. She lost 12 weeks of work (self-employed), had to move in with her son because she needed the extra help, and financially had no choice.

Kerry has started chemo pills and will be on IV chemo, radiation, immunotherapy. Her CA 19-9 markers are very high, so there is either an infection or obstruction. She knows her chances are not great, but she is a fighter. Rocky has nothing on her! She has been a Godsend to so many of us over the years. She will be going to the West Coast for her treatments, which will require extra finances. She is doing her best to do sessions when she can; that is who she is. A giver... always! She is scared, still feeling horrible, and knowing this cancer is now spreading is causing extra stress she does not need. I know a few have stepped up and have helped her out financially, and you are earth angels.

This is going to be a long journey for her, and we would like to take a bit of the stress off of her so she can concentrate on treatment and attempt to beat this beast. I know if the tables were turned, Kerry would be the first one to say, "What do we need to do to help?" She fought us on this GoFundMe, but too bad... we love her and want her here for the long haul. Even her angel son, Brien, wants her to continue to help others heal down here. If we could help with a few of her bills, her transportation to the West Coast, recovery from the next surgery, and then the aggressive chemo, we know it would definitely relieve a lot of stress for her. I know eventually she wants to be back in her own place and have a car again to be more independent. Cancer has turned her life upside down and inside out. We want our old Kerry back on her little feet doing what she loves, and that is sessions all day long. She hates having to reschedule because she is so sick or unable to give 100%, but we know bills don't care if you are ill. Any amount would help and be so appreciated. Keep the prayers, love, texts, and cards coming... they mean the world to her. Absolutely hate cancer and how it destroys every aspect of a person's life. She is being proactive and making sure plans are made in advance if the suitcase for the soul doesn't make it, and some of the funds will also go to that as well.
