My name is Karen, and I’m writing this as the sister of Kengie, who is currently fighting for her life.
In August 2025, Kengie underwent surgery to remove a pituitary tumor through an endoscopic transsphenoidal procedure. At the time, we believed this would be the beginning of her healing. Unfortunately, in September and October, complications arose when a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak developed as a result of the surgery.
By November 2025, the prolonged CSF leak weakened her immune system and led to meningitis. She was later diagnosed with cryptococcal meningitis, a serious and life-threatening infection that required aggressive treatment throughout November and December.
While fighting the infection, the medications took a severe toll on her body. In December 2025, Kengie developed acute kidney injury caused by the medication. Her creatinine levels rose, and she had to undergo dialysis to support her kidneys.
In January 2026, while still on treatment and experiencing critically low potassium levels, Kengie suffered an acute stroke. On January 28, she underwent emergency brain shunt surgery as the meningitis returned.
Since January 28, Kengie has been in a coma and continues to fight for her life.
Over the past months, she has endured surgery after surgery, intensive care, and complex treatments. The medical expenses have now reached nearly 6 million and continue to increase each day she remains hospitalized.
Kengie is a kind, hardworking, and deeply loving person. She is a devoted wife, a loving mother to her 2-year-old child, a cherished daughter, and a loyal friend who always puts others before herself. Our greatest hope is that she can wake up and return to her family, especially her young child who needs her so much.
As a family, we have exhausted our savings and explored every possible option here in the Philippines. We are humbly asking for help to ease the financial burden of her care. Our initial goal is to raise 7 million php to help cover ongoing hospital bills, medications, surgeries, dialysis, and critical care.
Any amount, no matter how small, truly helps. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping Kengie in your prayers means the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for standing with our family during this incredibly difficult time.
