Help Kendall Grieve the Loss of Maysie, Her Beloved Service Dog
Dear friends and community,
Our dear friend Kendall is going through an unimaginable loss. Her beloved dog Maysie—her companion, confidante, service dog, and best friend—passed away from lymphoma at just 5½ years old. Maysie was more than a pet. She was Kendall’s heart. Her protector. Her peace. Her constant.
Next to her daughter Rylee, Maysie was her everything.
If you know Kendall, you know the kindness, strength, and tireless advocacy she brings to our community. She’s the reason we have the off-leash dog park in Central Park. She gathered signatures, met with San Mateo Parks & Rec leadership, spoke at City Council meetings, and never stopped fighting for a place where our dogs—and we—could connect and thrive.
She gave us a gift. And now, we have a chance to give back.
Kendall works part-time for the Parks and Recreation Department, which means when she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid. I’ve started this GoFundMe to help ease her financial burden and give her the time and space she needs to grieve, rest, and begin to heal.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 and with your support, we hope to exceed it. Every dollar is a way of saying: we see you, we love you, and we’re here for you.
Let’s return the favor. Let’s stand with Kendall, the way she has always stood for us.
With love and gratitude,
Melissa
