On 22 July 2025, at approximately 11:15 AM, my wife Tonya, my niece Kaysie Morris, and her two young daughters, Olivia (6) and Amelia (4), were involved in a two-vehicle accident near Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. Kaysie, her husband Chase, and their girls were visiting for a week on the lake, near Conley Bottom Resort.

On Tuesday morning, the four ladies were riding around the neighborhood in a six-seater golf cart, eventually headed down the steep boat ramp road, when suddenly the cart brake cable broke. The electric cart then sped up quickly before hitting head-on into a parked visitor's van, side impact.

Olivia and Tonya were immediately airlifted to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY, due to life-threatening injuries. Upon arrival, Olivia was moved to the attached Kentucky Children's Hospital for emergency care.

Kaysie and Amelia were transported by rescue staff and emergency vehicles to Somerset, Kentucky, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Amelia was treated and released, while Kaysie was immediately transferred to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital Emergency Department.

Olivia was initially treated at the Kentucky Children's Hospital, Lexington, KY for three days, prior to being transferred to Batson Children's Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, in Jackson Mississippi, for numerous burns and leg lacerations.

Kaysie will also continue treatment for lacerations and numerous burns, eventually requiring plastic surgery. These medical procedures will likely occur in the Jackson, Mississippi area.

During the Morris Family's life-threatening emergency care, hospitalization, and continued burn center treatment, significant medical and unplanned expenses have been and continue to be incurred, far exceeding any financial capabilities.

Your generous gifts are critical in alleviating this burden, ensuring Chase and Kaysie can focus solely on recovery, without the added worry of medical and associated debt, of their girls.

We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support for these sweet girls, Kaysie and Chase. The gifts are being carefully stewarded to directly address the urgent medical needs and associated costs, allowing Kaysie, Olivia, and Amelia to receive the best possible care and a clear path toward healing.

Kaysie's husband, Stephen Chase Morris, is the strongest man alive, toughing through this extremely challenging time for Kaysie, Olivia, and Amelia.
