Stand with Katie: Brain Tumor Surgery

I am sharing this because a family who means so much to us and a big part of our baseball community is facing something incredibly hard. On November 10, Katie was diagnosed with a 4 centimeter brain tumor. What she thought were ocular migraines were actually seizures. She has spent the last several days meeting with neurosurgeons and starting medication. After seeing two specialists, she is scheduled for surgery at UAB on Wednesday November 19.
Katie has walked through this with a level of faith and steadiness that I deeply admire. In the middle of all of this she shared, “God has the whole world in His hands, and so my tumor.” That is Katie. Strong, steady, and rooted in faith.
I want to help take some of the load off her and her family. Medical bills and travel will add up quickly, and I know they already have so much on their plate. If you feel led to give, it will go directly toward supporting Katie’s care and recovery. And if you cannot give financially, your prayers and words of encouragement are so appreciated.
Thank you for loving her and standing with her.
