Stand with Kathi & Bob in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
Hi! I am a longtime family friend of Kathi and Bob Hunt. They are in crisis now and need our help. Kathi’s family home in Shelton CT is in risk of imminent danger of foreclosure due to back taxes. This could lead to her loss of her family home of 70 years, built by her father, and a loss ultimately leading to their homelessness.
-Bob and Kathi lost their liquor store in 2014 due to a situation started by Hurricane Irene in August of 2011 and were both unemployed.
-In 2016 Bob was seriously sick & almost died from Babesiosis, a tick-bourne disease he acquired from a tick bite he didn’t know he had gotten. He was intubated, lost 20 lbs in 1 week, spent 3 weeks in ICU & 3 weeks in rehab & 4 mos. out of work.
-The day after he returned to work the VA called to tell him he had cancer. He had surgery in December 2016 and was then out of work for another 3 mos..
-He returned to work and in January 2017 his cancer resurfaced and he had several weeks of chemotherapy.
-Consequently, he lost his job with Wells Fargo bank (due to the 2 short term medical leaves he took due to Babesiosis & his cancer & chemo) & was unemployed again.
-Financial times have been extremely difficult for them. Kathi who has a back disability & other medical issues, was only able to work part time since 2005.
-They have been on a payment plan for their taxes, however, have not ever been able to catch up.
Bob is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. 1970-72. He has applied for disability under the PACT Act due to medical consequences of water pollution at Camp LeJeune and is in the appeal process.
He currently works part-time at Home Depot but is finding this physically very difficult, he is 74 yrs. Old. Kathi is unable to work and is 73 yrs. old. She is a retired nurse.
They very much need YOUR assistance & community support and are praying for a way to pay all their back taxes. Thank you all very much for your assistance!
