Hi everyone,

It’s hard to put this into words, but our family is facing one of the toughest chapters of our lives. My beautiful mom, Karen Schmidt, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and she will be undergoing a double mastectomy on July 29th.

My mom is the heart of our family , selfless, strong, and always there for everyone else. Now it’s our turn to be there for her.

As she faces this life-changing surgery and the long recovery that follows, my dad wants to be by her side every step of the way. But he doesn’t have any paid time off, which means missing work will come at a real cost, just when they need support the most.

We’re starting this GoFundMe to help cover the day-to-day expenses while they walk through this journey—things like gas to get to appointments, groceries, bills, and anything else that comes up while my mom is recovering.
