Stand with Karalyn in Her Battle with Cancer

No one ever thinks they will have to write something like this, and we can honestly say we are just heartbroken. Karalyn was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer on April 30th, just a few weeks after her 37th Birthday. This news has shaken us to our core, but in the face of this daunting challenge, Kara has displayed remarkable strength, courage and resilience.

As she begins this difficult journey, we want to stand by her side and offer our love, support, and encouragement every step of the way. We hope to free Kara from some of the stress that comes along with her battle and set her up to be in the best state of mind to focus all her energy on her fight with breast cancer.

Fighting cancer isn’t just emotionally and physically draining, it also comes with significant financial burdens. We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of the financial strain that Kara and her family are facing with all the unplanned medical expenses not covered by insurance and Kara’s inability to work as she attends appointments and recovers from treatments. The funds raised will go towards covering medical expenses, including treatments, surgery, medications and other resources to support her on her road to kicking cancer.

Kara’s medical team has developed a clear plan for her treatment, but she has a long road ahead and uncertainty around the costs of treatment and other aids that will hopefully help her navigate the side effects of chemo. Kara will start chemotherapy in a week, then undergo radiation and surgery, and then receive a number of treatments to target her specific type of cancer.
