Help Kamani Get the Care She Needs

Our sweet warrior princess Kamani will soon be getting a tracheostomy (trach) to help her breathe safely. After surgery, she will need to stay in the hospital for 6 months, and Chris and I will need to take classes to learn how to care for her trach at home.

Chris will need to take FMLA from work to be with Kamani during this time. While he won’t be gone the full 6 months, he will miss a significant amount of work, and we won’t receive SSI for Kamani during this time because the system says her living expenses are covered by the hospital. This leaves us struggling to cover bills, rent, and daily expenses.

Chris’s mom has lovingly offered to take care of our older girls so we can focus fully on Kamani and her care. That is one huge worry lifted, but we still need help to keep up with everything else financially while we give our baby the care she needs.

I hate asking for help, but right now, we truly have no other choice. If you can donate, no amount is too small, and if you can’t donate, sharing this with others would mean the world to us.
