Stand with Kalia's Fight for Life

I'm Jake Bettencourt. I am creating this fund for my son, Tanner Bettencourt, and his family. Over the last several weeks, my 8-month-old granddaughter, Kalia, has been fighting a cold. The night before Thanksgiving, her pulse started to slow, prompting a trip to the emergency room. After further diagnoses, two large tumors were found in her brain, one being on her brainstem, which controls vital functions. She has now received her first round of surgery to remove the one on her brainstem, with several more in the coming weeks/months.

If you are able to contribute to this fund, it will go towards bills and give my son and his family a much-needed lifeline so that they can focus on giving Kalia as much love and support as possible in this incredibly difficult time. Thank you!

Update 12/1 - Kalea's First Surgery went well, the doctors were able to remove 95% of the tumor that was surrounding her brainstem! Allowing all of her vitals to return to a normal range! We are for sure not out of the woods yet, but she is stable for the time being. The doctors have brought her out of sedation and this week she will get some time to heal and rest before going back in for the second tumor. We have yet to receive the biopsy results and will cross that bridge when we get there. The outpouring of prayers and support for Kalea has shown us that the world still has so many wonderful people letting compassion and understanding lead the way, and for that I speak for the whole family, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Tanner and Aliah are steadfast by Kalea's side 24/7 there for her every need, and I couldn't be prouder of how they are handling one of the toughest things a parent can endure. I will try my best to keep everyone updated as we travel this road to recovery.
