Hi, my name is Nerissa Horner. I am humbly reaching out asking for support for my daughter and son-in-law Kalea and Travis Reis.

Kalea is facing a medical condition which is requiring surgery in Rochester and will take her out of work for an undetermined amount of time.

Kalea and Travis have been married for a year and a half and have worked so hard to accomplish all that they have.

At a young age of 21 Kalea has been diagnosed with a paraganglioma tumor in her neck that is close to her carotid artery. After extensive testing the doctors in Rochester are very confident that the tumor can be removed safely. Due to the proximity of the carotid artery, she will have a team of doctors performing the surgery and on stand-by as a precautionary measure. Surgery is scheduled for March 6, 2025.

Kalea and Travis have their own home which comes with all the bills most 21 year olds do not have to worry about and this is going to impact them financially and emotionally. Kalea will receive short-term disability, but that does not pay enough to afford their mortgage, utilities, car payments, and lodging in Rochester. Travis will also be out of work for atleast a week as the Dr. is predicting Kalea will be admitted for up to 3 days and then stay in Rochester until the drain tube is able to be removed (up to 1 week from surgery date) As we all know, medical co-pays are going to add up fast. These two young, driven, hard-working individuals could use any assistance we can offer with these upcoming battles they are facing.
