Hi everyone, my name is Juan Barrios I am a 25-year-old patient coordinator at a major hospital who resides in Pasadena California. I have been active with community member when ICE raids were happening almost daily and have continued to fight for our immigrant community.

On November 10, 2025, I was on my daily walk-through old town when I noticed a group of unmarked cars with lights and sirens. I approached respectfully and asked what was happening and within minutes I was thrown against a wall and to the floor and placed in handcuffs so tight that my hands had to be X-rayed at hospital due to the swelling and bruising. I was put in jail for a whole night with none of my medications. I was charged with public intoxication (when i was in fact not, no breathalyzer or sobriety test was done. they just "smelled" alcohol. Additionally, the detaining officer, who was a San Bernardino Sherrif in Pasadena insisted that he would add charges for resisting and obstruction when all I did was record and even walked away when they asked me to.

I was left contusions on my back and shoulders, a head injury, and both wrists sprained, which thankfully was treated at Huntington Hospital.

Unfortunately, after speaking with several lawyers this will be a lengthy and expensive battle.

If anyone is able to help with any amount it will be going to my criminal defense lawyer and once I hopefully have my case dropped the remaining money will go to a civil rights lawyer for the way the police assaulted me that night as well as the other men, they had cuffed.
