Jovan is just 24 years old and has recently been diagnosed with a 17cm adenocarcinoma — an aggressive and rare form of cancer. Doctors at Princess Alexandra Hospital have said it’s one of the most serious cases they’ve seen in someone his age. Genetic testing has confirmed that this cancer is hereditary, making it even more heartbreaking and complex.
Jovan now faces a long and difficult road ahead. His treatment plan includes chemotherapy, major surgery, and then more chemotherapy. He’s been told he won’t be able to return to work for at least a year — possibly longer — depending on how his body responds to treatment.
Although he has been living and working in Australia for over two years, Jovan is originally from New Zealand and, unfortunately, is not eligible for government financial support while undergoing treatment.
For anyone who knows Jovan, you’ll know he’s a kind, hardworking, and generous person. He is a supportive friend, and a passionate rugby player — someone who brings strength and heart to everything he does.
Now, he needs our support.
We’re raising funds to help cover Jovan’s everyday living expenses so he can focus on what matters most — his health.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial pressure during this incredibly challenging time. Thank you for standing with Jovan and his family.
