Last week, Joseph was enjoying spending some quality time with friends, grilling and hanging out by the pool. That night, he woke up feeling nauseous, had a fever, and stomach pains, etc., and assumed he had food poisoning. After some time passed and his symptoms only got worse, he decided to go to urgent care. After a brief checkup, they decided to prescribe him some medication and sent him on his way. Just when he was starting to feel optimistic and hoped to feel some relief, things took a turn for the worse. The pain and swelling had gotten so bad he decided to go to the emergency room. Doctors were blown away by the negligence and misdiagnosis of the urgent care staff, and they sent him into a room in ICU right away because they thought he was having a heart attack. They immediately started running a series of tests, including blood work, EKGs, CT scans, and ultrasounds. They discovered that he had multiple blood clots in his spleen and kidneys, cutting off blood supply to those organs, and an infection that had spread to his heart. The infection has severely damaged one of his valves to where he'll need heart surgery to replace it.

He has already missed a couple of weeks of work and who knows how long he'll be hospitalized for and how long his recovery will take? In the meantime, his bills are already starting to stack up.

Joseph is a very strong, loving, and caring man that would do anything for those he cares about, and it's time we return the favor.
