Stand with Jesus: A Husband, Father & Fighter

Hi everyone,

My name is Elena, and I’m currently six months pregnant. My husband and I have two beautiful children—ages 5 and 12—and we are going through one of the hardest times of our lives.

A few weeks ago, my husband suffered a traumatic medical emergency that resulted in the loss of his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment and will eventually need a prosthetic foot. The doctors have advised us to keep everything in our household as normal and stable as possible, especially for his emotional wellbeing and for the kids’ sense of security.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to stop working due to the pregnancy and have now been out of work for over a month. I’ve been doing my best to stay on top of our bills, but the costs are overwhelming—especially now that we’ve received a hospital bill for $45,000. On top of that, we’ll need to start saving for his prosthetic and other ongoing medical expenses.

We’re asking for help primarily with rent and essentials for the kids, just to keep things afloat while we navigate this difficult time. Anything you can contribute would go directly toward keeping a roof over our heads, maintaining our car (which is critical for appointments), and covering ongoing medical costs.
