Stand with Jessica Gomes' Family Now

My dear friends, I’m Ana Cristina Rabelo and I’ve created this fund to help Jessica Gomes and her family during this so difficult time in their lives. Jessica is a devoted mother of 3-year old Benjamin-who has been diagnosed with autism- and 10 year old Yasmin. She’s also the wife of Israel Marcos Gomes, who is currently being unjustly held in immigration detention for and faces the threat of deportation. I know this family personally, and I can tell you that they are going through an incredible difficult time- emotionally and financially-without the presence of Israel Marcos, the main provider and support system. Jéssica and Israel Marcos used all their savings to hire an immigration attorney and apply for legal status in the US, based on their son Benjamin’s citizenship and special needs(autism). While they were awaiting for a decision from the immigration authorities, Israel Marcos was unexpectedly and unfairly detained-despite having no criminal records. He is a dedicated father, a very hard-working man, and someone who has constantly paid his taxes and contributed to his community since arriving in the United States. This family is now struggling to meet even their basic needs. Jessica has been doing everything she can to take care for her two children, especially Benjamin, who requires extra care and support.
