Stand with Jerry in His Battle for Life

Hello, friends. Our beloved brother, Jerry, needs our help.

Jerry has been battling MS since January 2016 and has recently been diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Jerry didn't agree to this fund lightly. His Cartronics business, which he's had since 1994, is in jeopardy, and he has no way of paying his daily living expenses. He is currently hospitalized due to overwhelming pain and fluid filling his lung, and it is obvious that he will be unable to do the kind of physical labor required in his job in any consistent capacity for the foreseeable future due to the aggressive rate and significant progression of his cancer, treatment, and side effects.

Here’s how all of this came to light:
At the end of February, after some weeks of pain in his left lower rib cage, Jerry went to see his primary care doctor, who ordered an x-ray of his chest. On February 29, the x-ray was taken, and the doctor saw a shadow from the right lung. Jerry saw the physician's assistant, who ordered an ultrasound, and that came back normal. He finally was able to get back to the doctor, who ordered a CT scan on May 3. When the results came in on May 6, the primary care doctor referred Jerry to the oncologists at Houston Methodist. By the time we first met with their team on May 8, Jerry’s pain had grown to around a level 7. He was only okay standing and couldn’t sit or lie down for any length of time. A series of tests and appointments began until they could make a diagnosis of squamous cell lung cancer. His cancer has metastasized in the right lung, rib bones, and bone marrow.

Jerry is receiving his first doses of chemotherapy in the hospital. He will also receive immunotherapy. The medication for his MS is an immune suppressant, so he will not take that during cancer treatment.

Our hope is that we can come together and show someone who has always had our backs that we have his. Jerry is only 52 years old and hopes to live to see his son, Cash, marry and start a family. At this point, the prognosis isn't good, and we want to give him the best chance of fighting this without the extreme stress of no income.

We appreciate donations of any amount and are especially grateful for your prayers.
Let us hold on to unrelenting, stubborn hope.

Grace, peace, and gratitude.
