Help Jerome Recover & Heal After His Devastating Motorcycle Accident

On June 30, 2025, our lives were turned upside down. My husband Jerome was in a devastating motorcycle accident on I-96 near Portland. We had just bought his motorcycle that day in Grand Rapids. He had only owned it for one hour before this tragic crash on our way home.

Even though he wore his helmet, the impact left him with life-changing injuries, including:

Mild traumatic brain injury

Many broken bones in his left arm and both legs

Severely broken finger on his left hand with high probability of long term disability

Broken shoulder and shoulder blade

Severe muscle trauma

Extensive injuries to his arm potentially requiring skin grafts

Why This Is Even Harder

We were just married on May 22, 2025, and I hadn’t yet added Jerome to my health insurance. Then, because we had just bought the motorcycle, it also wasn’t insured yet.

This means he currently has no medical or auto insurance coverage for these overwhelming hospital bills, surgeries, and therapies.

His Current Situation

Right now, Jerome is fighting for his life in the Trauma ICU. Doctors are working to stabilize him, prevent complications, and plan multiple surgeries to repair the damage. He has begun to regain some strength and speak a few words, but he remains heavily medicated and faces a long, painful road ahead.

Due to the extent of injuries to his left arm and hand, doctors are unsure if Jerome will ever be able to work again. We remain hopeful, but the possibility of long-term disability is very real.

Who Jerome Is

Jerome is a loving husband, a man of deep faith, and someone whose humor and kindness light up every room. He plays drums on the praise team at church and has always been the first to help others without expecting anything in return.

But today, he is the one who needs help.
