My name is Jennine Labuzan. I am single mother of seven children, and for the last several years I have been fighting alone for something bigger than myself.
This fight began when my children and I discovered federal land patents issued to our ancestor, Charles Augustus Labuzan. When I read the words granting land to him and his heirs forever, I broke down and cried.
For the first time, I felt like I could see my ancestor, hear him, and understand that he had tried to leave something behind for his family. I am not fighting for greed. I am fighting so my children and grandchildren can inherit what our ancestor intended for them to have: land, legacy, and dignity.
This battle has not been easy. I have faced powerful land interests, years of litigation, and now I am facing the threat of being forced to sign away property rights that I believe belong to my family.
In one filing, a lawyer for Lakeland Farms stated, “Your Honor, if you agree with this, you will undo what we have been doing for close to 100 years.” That statement says everything.
I am asking for help because I cannot keep fighting this alone. Donations will help with court filings, legal research, printing, mailing, travel, records, and the emergency costs of defending my rights.
Please stand with me, my seven children, my grandchildren, and the memory of our ancestors.
Help us continue this fight for family, land, justice, and inheritance.
