Hello, my name is Hannah Moseley. I am starting up a fundraiser for my dad, Jeff Hall. Back in September of 2023 Jeff was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer than had metastasized to his brain, liver, lungs, colon, stomach and lymph nodes. We are coming up on a year of chemo and radiation treatment (September 27th being his first day of chemo!). We have had mixed results since, with some growing, some new ones and some being beaten. About three weeks ago Jeff was hospitalized at Nash and shipped to WakeMed to be with his team of oncologists while admitted. So while the chemo is trying to do its job, it is also affecting his ability to do daily tasks as well. Up until four weeks ago he was able to work part time on the weeks he did not have his chemo treatments (every two weeks). The found tumor number eight in his brain and recently underwent radiation for 5 days. Since coming home from the hospital he has declined in health, as some of us unfortunately know, both chemo and radiation are both vigorous treatments meant to help our bodies but can be very detrimental to them as well. Jeff has gotten weaker, with not being able to do daily activities while we promote rest, it is also very difficult for him to eat causing a severe decline in his nutritional status as well. Jeff is a very outgoing and determined person, one of the most kindhearted individuals I have ever met. I am pushing for the community to come together because I know he would for anyone else. As we are so grateful for the team of oncologists in Raleigh that take such good care of him, the medical bills along with the travelling are no joke when it comes to the cost. The cost of daily living is enough in this day in age, regular bills added to that. My family is struggling and we are grateful for whatever is given, even if it is only a prayer you say over us.
