Stand with Jeanne and Joe in Their Time of Need

Hello, friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We’re reaching out to share the story of Joe, Jeanne, and their son Sean, a family facing overwhelming challenges with courage and love. Your support can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Joe and Jeanne’s love story began in Los Angeles, where Jeanne was dancing ballet with her friend Laura, Joe’s cousin, at the Ahmanson Theatre. Laura wanted to set Jeanne up for a blind date, and after losing a coin toss, Joe was the one that went on that date. “I lost the coin toss, but I won in life” is how he would always tell the story. Married in 1984, they welcomed their only son, Sean, in 1986. Joe served a long career in law enforcement, protecting his community with his beloved K9 companions, while Jeanne became a nurse, caring for others with compassion. Their lives have been marked by service, resilience, and devotion to each other.

Jeanne was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2020, and with incredible strength, she entered remission after a tough battle. Around the same time, Joe began showing signs of early-onset Alzheimer’s, a heartbreaking diagnosis that has progressed to the point where he now needs specialized memory care. To manage these challenges, Joe and Jeanne relocated from Orange County, California, to Pennsylvania in 2023. In late 2024, Jeanne’s cancer returned, and she has been fighting it while initially continuing her work as a nurse.

Their son, Sean, remains in California, doing everything he can to support his parents from afar. Meanwhile, a true guardian angel, Jeanne's sister Nancy in Pennsylvania, has stepped up to help with daily tasks, hospital visits, and everything needed as Jeanne navigates her cancer treatments and Joe’s decline with Alzheimer’s. This incredible kindness has been a lifeline for the family.

The current challenge is daunting: to afford Joe’s memory care, the family will need to sell their home and sign over all proceeds, along with Social Security and Medicaid, to the facility. Jeanne would need to move in with Nancy as she battles cancer and Joe is moved into the permanent facility. We’re raising funds to help offset the loss of funds from selling their home to cover Joe’s memory care costs, and support Sean’s travel to Pennsylvania to be by his mother’s side and provide relief for Nancy’s selfless caregiving.

How Your Donation Will Help:
Support Jeanne’s Treatment: Ease the financial burden of Jeanne’s ongoing battle with cancer.
Preserve Their Home Value: Help Joe and Jeanne recover the funds from the sale of their home to be able to pay for Joe’s memory care facility.
Fund Joe’s Memory Care: Ensure Joe receives the specialized care he needs for his Alzheimer’s.
Enable Sean’s Visits: Cover travel costs so Sean can be with his parents in Pennsylvania, offering emotional support and helping Nancy.
Provide Relief for Nancy: Allow the family to hire additional caregiving support to prevent burnout.
Funeral Costs: Relief for unexpected funeral costs at their young ages.

Every donation, no matter the size, will bring this family closer to stability and hope. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world.

Thank you for taking the time to read Joe, Jeanne, and Sean’s story. Your generosity and compassion can help them through this incredibly difficult time. Let’s rally together to show them they’re not alone.
