Stand with Jay's Family Against Cancer

Hi, my name is April Serio. I am trying to raise funds for a wonderful family whose husband/dad is fighting stage 4 cancer of his esophagus, liver, and kidneys. He has worked for the Barletta Construction Company for the last 15 years. They reside in Saugus. I've had the pleasure of working with his children and wife at Kingdom Rock Children's Village in Davis Square for the past 3 years. I am an infant teacher there.

June, the mom, her daughter Tori, and the twin boys Chris and CJ work in the preschool and toddler rooms. All three of them are in college pursuing their dreams. Tori is done in May of 2026 and will pursue her dreams of becoming an Occupational Therapist. CJ will continue his career as a Veterinarian after undergrad school, and Chris is done next May also with his undergrad in Psychology and is going to pursue his career as a psychologist in grad school. They will have lots of college debt that they will have to try and pay.

Their dad carries the health insurance, so with him not able to work, the whole family has to look into providing health care for themselves, including their mom June. Another bill to try and pay. They now have to take turns working so that Jay will not be left alone at home because he needs continuous care. With all of these hurdles to overcome, they are also trying to finish their studies to graduate.
