Stand with Jax: A Little Warrior's Fight
Donation protected
I need everyone's help. My baby cousins son Jax (11) went to the hospital over two weeks ago. One side of his heart is enlarged and his little heart is beating so fast that he gets dizzy. The veins in his lungs are so small that he is having difficulty breathing. He was supposed to have a cath procedure tomorrow to find out what was going on with his heart but that has now been postponed due to him catching a viral infection while being in the hospital. At some point there is a great possibility that he will need a lung transplant. My cousin is a single mother of 2 and cares for her mother as well. I want her to be able to focus on her baby, at this moment there is no definite discharge date and would like for her to not have to worry about how she will pay her bills. Most of us are mother's or father's and we love our babies and we all know we would want to be able to have all our focus on our child and not how will I take care of my family since I cannot work. Please find some compassion in your heart one parent to another. Even if it is just $1 anything will help.
On Wednesday April 3, he was diagnosed with Severe Pulmonary Hypertension. There is no cure for this. It is very rare in children. The cardiologist that diagnosed him with this has been in practice for 32 years and he has only seen about 10 children with this in his career. The most common Pulmonary Hypertension is commonly on the left side of the heart, normally found in older adults. In Jaxen's case his is on the right side in which his heart is being affected by the blood vessels in his lung are too narrow for the proper amount of blood to be pushed through causing his heart to work that much harder to try and push the blood through, which ultimately is causing damage to his heart. Unfortunately through extensive testing they dont know what has caused his blood vessels in his lung to be deformed, chopped it up to "bad luck". He was referred to a specialist in Chicago at the Lurie Children's hospital where he has been admitted since April 7.
