Hello, my name is Julie. I served in the Navy alongside Janine Jones, and our journey together began in boot camp and A-school training at DINFOS. Janine isn't just a fellow Navy veteran; she's a dear friend to me and many others. Now, as she faces unexpected challenges, I believe we need to rally together and support her in this time of need.

Janine recently received devastating news when a visit to the emergency room for what she thought was appendicitis turned out to be a diagnosis of cancer. Since then, she has undergone a challenging surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where doctors performed several procedures including a hysterectomy and a small bowel resection.

Tragically, while Janine was in the hospital, one of her beloved dogs, Nori, escaped her harness during a walk and was fatally struck by a car.

As Janine bravely battles her illness and grieves the loss of her furry companion, she also faces the daunting prospect of chemotherapy ahead.

This unexpected turn of events has left her unable to work for several months while she recovers from surgery. Janine urgently needs our support to help cover essential expenses like rent, utilities, and food.

Our goal of $10,000 will support Janine's expenses for about 4 months while she recovers. This will come out to $2,500 per month. Her rent is $1,750 per month and the additional $750 should help cover the bare minimum of her other expenses for each month.
