Support Janie Perez: Aid for the Family

Donation protected
Our dear friend, Janie (Hughes) Perez needs our help.

Alejandro, Janie’s husband of 5 years and the father of their two children, three-year-old Luna and one-year-old Lexie, was taken into custody by ICE on October 23rd. He is currently incarcerated as they wait on the court systems to release him at which point he will be deported.

Nothing about this is right. Alejandro is a loving husband, a devoted father, a faithful employee and a loyal friend to many. He is a man of faith and embodies the American values of hard work, responsibility, dedication to family, and contributing to American society as a taxpayer and community member. Alejandro is an active church member as well.

Janie and the girls need our help. Alejandro was the sole provider for their household, and jail is not free. They are facing mounting legal bills, a mortgage, and the many expenses that will come from relocating their family to Mexico in the coming months. With a totally uncertain future in the middle of the Holiday Season, we have set up this page to provide at least a small amount of financial relief.

If you are able to help, please donate here or reach out to Janie directly.
More than anything, please pray for Alejandro, Janie, Luna, and Lexie as they face this horrific injustice.

Words from Janie below:
“Our hearts are so broken right now with everything that has transpired from this messy situation with Alejandro. From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate all the love and the flood of prayers we have been receiving, along with those who have already graciously donated funds or meals. Not one message, meal, donation, and prayer goes unnoticed. I trust that God knows our family’s next steps and the timeline for it all, but our family’s future is nerve-wracking for all of us. Leaving our friends and family here will be the hardest part of it all as we’ve built our whole lives here. However, we will do anything to have our family together again. Until immigration reform for good individuals like Alejandro miraculously occurs in this country, we will have to be elsewhere. Please continue praying for Alejandro to endure these long months in jail awaiting court after court before ultimately deportation. Pray for Luna who is being affected emotionally by her Daddy not being present. Pray for my soul as I make it one day at a time caring for our whole family, encouraging Alejandro daily, and dealing with the legal side of things. Pray for Lexie of course too. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”
