Stand with Janet: Education Over Tradition
Donation protected
I am trying to help my friend Lea who works tirelessly helping the Maasai Tribe women in Tanzania. She has taken in 17 year-old Janet. Janet is a very brave young woman breaking tribal traditions. She is trying to make something of herself and her life and needs help with educational expenses. Please take a few moments to donate as little or as much as you can. We would also appreciate you sharing this fundraiser far and wide, maybe we can even raise a little extra to give her a little extra for necessities. Together we can do so much to change one young lady's life. See her story from Leah below:
Janet is a Maasai girl who after completing form four (high school) was being forced by her father to undergo female circumcision, so that she could get married.
However, Janet refused to be circumcised and married because she wants to continue studying to achieve her dreams. She sought us out and came to stay with me so that we could help her. Janet wants to study hair dresser and she is supposed to start college next week. I ask that you help her and donate to her so that she can go to college. Education is important for Maasai girls and currently Janet is with me. The things she needs are mattresses, school uniforms, bags, notebooks, pads, school fees, and food while she is in school. For anyone who can sponsor or donate to Janet to go to college
Much thanks,
Amber, Lea, & Janet
