Rebuild Hope for Jamaica.
By Javaun “Javii” Brown
Hey everyone, my name is Javaun “Javii” Brown, and I’m a professional surfer from Boston Bay Beach, Jamaica — one of the best surf spots on our island and the place where I grew up.
I’m raising funds to support the people of Jamaica, who were devastated by Hurricane Melissa. Many families, including my own friends and relatives, have lost homes, boats, and the small businesses that keep our community alive.
Right now, I’m in Nosara, Costa Rica, where I came to train and meet with supporters who are helping me build my career. My business partner, Parker Steele from the U.S., is helping manage and oversee how these funds are distributed transparently.
How the funds will be used:
All donations will be spent exactly as stated below:
1. Emergency Relief & Supplies: food, clean water, and basic needs for families in Jamaica’s hardest hit areas.
2. Home and Business Repairs: helping local residents rebuild damaged structures and roofs.
Every dollar will be used responsibly and accounted for. Updates and receipts will be shared publicly as we rebuild.
I’ve seen how powerful the ocean can be — it can destroy, but it can also heal. My goal is to help my community and other Communities rise again and to show young Jamaicans that even in disaster there’s always a wave worth catching.
Thank you for believing in me, in Jamaica, and in our future.
