Stand with Jaime in His Fight Against Cancer

On October 12, 2023, Jaime Ramirez was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the hard palate. The news was completely out of the blue and a huge shock to him and his family. Since his diagnosis, he's had to endure a 13-hour surgery to remove the tumor (the size of an avocado) from his sinus cavity. This tumor took his left eye, his hard palate (reconstructed), his cheekbones, and his upper teeth. Because of this diagnosis and the recovery from surgery, 7 sessions of chemo, and 36 radiation treatments, he was no longer able to continue working and had to close his business, RamTile.

Owning your business in no way prepares you for this type of financial setback. The savings he had have now been depleted. His partner, Maribel, has become the sole provider for him and her daughter. With the love and help from family and friends, they have been blessed to have received some donations here and there.

With Jaime's cancer spreading, he now has cancer in his L2 vertebrae, left clavicle, and they recently discovered cancer around a gland above his kidney. The likelihood of him going back to work is unlikely. He is scheduled to start chemo on October 7, and is currently having radiation on his L2. Next, they will be doing radiation on his clavicle.
