Update on Jacob. Jacob went into surgery late last night and the Neuro Dr. likes what he sees on the scan after surgery. Most likely will be a few days to see results. Please continue to keep Jacob and family in your prayers and keep on sharing! Thank you all for the support!
On Saturday, November 8th, Jacob Hyler, was preparing to compete in a motorcross race. During a practice lap, Jacob was involved in an accident, leaving him unconscious. He was eventually airlifted to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando and is suffering from extensive trauma to his brain. Over the last week and a half, Scott and Laura have lived a parent’s nightmare, clinging to the bedside of their child, praying he makes it through the night. Their world is shaken.
They are eternally grateful for the friends from every area of their lives who have called, texted, prayed, sent food, and asked how they can help support Jacob, Scott and Laura. A lot of uncertainty remains. They don’t yet know the extent of Jacob’s injuries and his long-term prognosis. They can’t anticipate how long he will remain in ICU and what is beyond that for their family. In an effort to streamline the wonderful help being offered, we have set up a Go Fund Me page for the Hyler family. This will allow them to make the best use of the generous offerings by so many people. These funds can then be used for hotel and travel costs, time out of work, and possible care needs for when Jacob can come home, in the manner they most need.
The outpouring of support for Jacob and the family has been truly unbelievable. It may be impossible to thank every person individually who is walking through this tragedy with them but, please know, from the bottom of their hearts, they thank you.
Sincerely,
