Help Support Issac Marrufo’s Recovery After a Tragic Firework Accident

On the night of July 4th, what should have been a celebration turned into a nightmare for our beloved 17-year-old Issac Marrufo. A firework tragically exploded in his hands and near his face, causing devastating injuries that have forever changed the course of his life.

Issac is currently in intensive care, where he will remain for several weeks. He has already undergone facial reconstruction surgery and reconstruction of both of his thumbs. His injuries include multiple facial fractures, a broken jaw and cheekbone, two broken thumbs, and the loss of several teeth. And this is just the beginning of a long road ahead.

Issac will need multiple additional surgeries for his hands, face, and extensive dental reconstruction. After that, he’ll face months of physical therapy to help him regain function and strength.

His mother, a single parent, has not left his side—and she won’t be able to return to work anytime soon. She is his full-time caregiver during this critical time. His younger sister cannot work, and the family is relying heavily on his older brother, who is doing all he can to keep things afloat.

This fund is to help cover housing needs near the hospital, travel expenses, ongoing medical and therapy costs, and basic household bills while Issac and his family fight through this recovery journey.

Issac is a bright, loving, and joyful young man. He’s the kind of person who lights up every room he enters and cares deeply about those around him. He was so excited to begin his senior year of high school, especially looking forward to senior traditions like Senior Sunrise. Now, instead of preparing for graduation, he’s fighting to heal and rebuild his life.
