Islamic Society of Tulsa – Community Appeal
For more than 30 years, the Islamic Society of Tulsa has served northeast Oklahoma with compassion, service, and open doors. We provide food to families in need, free medical clinics, disaster relief, youth programs, and community events.
We are not outsiders. We are your neighbors, coworkers, teachers, first responders, and small-business owners. We love this community and we invest in it.
That is why we purchased land in Broken Arrow - to build a mosque and community center where families can worship, children can learn and play, and neighbors can have their needs addressed.
We followed the city’s process. We hired engineers and planners. We addressed every technical requirement. The city’s own Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of our project. Yet despite that recommendation, the City Council denied our rezoning request.
For our community, this was heartbreaking. Many families had hoped this would finally provide a place to pray, learn, and serve close to home.
We are now working with civil-rights and legal organizations to ensure our rights are protected and that we are treated fairly under the law, just like any other faith community.
How your donation helps:
First, funds will support legal, planning, and advocacy costs related to ensuring a fair process.
Then, any remaining funds will be applied to construction costs for the mosque and community center, if and when approvals are finalized, God willing.
Transparency & stewardship:
Funds are managed by the Islamic Society of Tulsa’s Shura and Finance Committee.
We will provide regular public updates on progress and spending. The Islamic Society of Tulsa is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 73-1531678). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to building a center that will serve not only Muslims, but the entire Broken Arrow community through education, charity, and outreach.
Thank you for standing with us. Your support means more than you know.
