Stand with Hurley Tarver Against Cancer

This year, February 13th, my sister Sabrina’s fiancé, Hurley was diagnosed with cancer and has been unable to work. We are starting this GoFundMe so they can cover the radiation, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant and an extensive hospital stay from which he has just returned home.

Hurley’s symptoms began innocently enough with left shoulder and rib pain, initially dismissed as minor discomforts. Months passed before the true cause was uncovered - blood cancer.

The treatment began with radiation on the tumors on his shoulder and ribs as the pain was significant and he had very limited use of the left arm. Chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant were determined to be the treatment path after radiation.

Unfortunately, within the last several weeks, Hurley became very sick and a trip to ER resulted in his immediate admission into the Intensive Care Unit/hospital where he stayed for 10 days due to kidney failure. Hurley overcame many hurdles as an amazing team of doctors and nurses, worked to save his kidneys and life. Unfortunately, just before being released, X-ray revealed Hurley has 6 broken ribs due to the cancer’s impact to his bones.

Hurley has been so strong and never wavering in his faith. He, Sabrina and the boys are leaning into family and friends during this challenging time.
