Hmong International Academy (HIA) is more than just a school; it is a pillar of the North Minneapolis community. HIA is a dual-purpose cornerstone: a specialized center for Hmong language and heritage, and a welcoming neighborhood school for a diverse student body of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. Our families are the heartbeat of our classrooms, and right now, many of them are facing an unimaginable crisis due to recent ICE enforcement actions.
The fear and instability caused by these events have left many of our HIA families in a vulnerable position. When a caregiver is detained, displaced, or the family has to shelter in place, the entire family faces immediate financial and emotional hardship. We are coming together to ensure that our students and their families feel supported, safe, and seen during this incredibly difficult time.
We believe in direct action. 100% of the funds collected through this campaign will go directly to Hmong International Academy families impacted by the current crisis. Your contributions will help cover: Emergency Housing & Utilities—keeping families in their homes; Basic Necessities—groceries and household essentials; and Stability for Students—ensuring our students have what they need to continue learning despite the chaos.
