This fundraiser is for Henry Lopez Herrera. Henry has lived in San Francisco for 18 years; this is his home.

He is a Nicaraguan who, like many others, emigrated to this country seeking a better future and a dream to fulfill: providing for his family.

On December 3, 2025, he was detained by immigration officers while attending a routine check-in appointment at the USCIS office. Since then, he has been in the California City Correctional Facility.

During this time, he hired a law firm that, unfortunately, only took his money and has not been able to resolve his case. The problem is that he no longer has the money to hire new legal counsel.

His mental health has been declining since day one, and he desperately needs your help. The judge in charge of his case is not allowing him to stay, but he either haven't deported him to Nicaragua, where he is terrified for his life.

He is my best friend of more than 20 years. Due to his detention, he has lost his apartment and all his belongings, from furniture and other items to clothing and personal belongings. He has nothing to return to.
This fundraising is primarily to hire someone to expedite his deportation process because staying hasn't helped much, even though he applied for asylum over a year ago. He's very depressed; the treatment he's received in these places is completely inhumane—food you wouldn't even give your pets, and the temperature inside these places with constant air conditioning. Imagine being outside in this constant cold air.

Henry has been working legally for FedEx as an essential worker. He has a 5-year work permit that needs to be renewed periodically until his asylum case is approved. He has 3 children whom he adores like any father. He pays his taxes and has no criminal record.

The emotional toll all these people, including children, are taking is a crime. Help me help Henry; I'm sure I'm not the only one he's touched life in a good way.
Please give what you can to help him get that chance, and share Henry's story.
