Hi everyone,
We’re asking for help during the hardest chapter of our lives. Our baby boy, Henry, has been diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) — a rare and life-threatening condition where his organs are growing where his tiny lungs should be. His estimated lung capacity is only 16% at his current gestational age at 25 weeks. Only 0.04% of babies are born with this condition every year.
To give him the best chance, we have to relocate hours from home for about 3–4 months so he can have a special surgery before birth and get the care he’ll need the moment he arrives at UC San Francisco. We’re hoping to get help with housing near the hospital, but it isn’t guaranteed, so we may need to cover lodging costs ourselves on top of gas, food, parking, and keeping our home going while we’re away.
Sean, the father, is a disabled veteran whose income mostly goes toward our home morgage and bills such as phone, car insurance and home insurance. I’m currently on early maternity leave and and am still waiting for my disability benifits to get approved. once its apprived, my income will be reduced by 40%, wich is just enough to cover utilities and a little food.
Your support means we can stay by Henry’s side every minute — without worrying about choosing between bills and being with our baby when he needs us most.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and lifting us up in this fight for Henry’s life. Every bit of help means the world to us.
Goal 1: $3000 - This amount will cover about 3 months, of living in SF, not including rent. We will only set the second goal below if needed. For example, if we end up staying longer due to prolonged complications.
Goal 2: 6000
Lastly, if amount donated surpasses our goal and we no longer need the assistance, the remainder will be donated directly to another mother with a CDH baby in need or UCSF Fetal CDH team to help with thier research and to bring more awareness to this rare condition.
With love and hope,
Salena & Sean Williams
