Meet Heather — a 51-year-old wife, mother, and grandmother whose life has been forever changed by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
PKD is a genetic illness that causes cysts to grow inside the kidneys, leading to pain, high blood pressure, kidney failure, and endless hospital visits.
There is no cure — only treatments to manage the symptoms until the day a kidney transplant may become necessary.
Every Day Is a Battle
Watching Heather fight through constant fatigue, discomfort, and uncertainty is heartbreaking. Despite it all, she faces each day with courage, hope, and a bright smile.
But behind the smiles are:
