My name is Vanya, and I’m raising money for my sister-in-law Heather as she is fighting yet another battle after she beat breast cancer.

Heather fought stage 3B triple-negative breast cancer, went through 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with lymph node removal, 15 rounds of radiation, and 17 rounds of Keytruda. It was a long journey that we thought was the last of it, but suddenly there was more. Heather was hospitalized on 9/3/26 when she began to have multiple seizures and spent 4 days in the ICU and 1 day in a regular hospital room. During that hospitalization, scans discovered a 1.5 x 1.6 x 1.7 cm tumor in the left parietal lobe of her brain, with swelling surrounding it. Heather’s doctors have a plan to undergo targeted radiation treatments to the brain tumor. They believe it is a recurrence from the breast cancer.

Heather has been very strong fighting for her life, with her husband and two small children by her side, while facing unexpected medical costs, time away from work and living expenses. Because of the newest diagnosis, Heather is uncertain if she will be able to go back to her current work.
