Help Hannah Heal: A Journey of Hope and Resilience
In October 2024, our beloved Hannah underwent a kidney transplant at UAMS. Although the initial recovery appeared promising, her blood levels didn't stabilize as anticipated. By March 2025, a biopsy revealed the heartbreaking news: her body was rejecting the new kidney. This led to Hannah's immediate hospitalization, where she began intensive treatments with infusions and steroids, desperately trying to prevent rejection. While her levels improved slightly, this left her immune system dangerously weakened, making her highly vulnerable to infections.
On April 7th, Hannah's health took a serious downturn. Her mother worked tirelessly to care for her at home, but her condition worsened. By April 22, she was back in the hospital with no clear path to discharge. Since then, Hannah has bravely faced a series of health battles: testing positive for the flu, E. coli, thrush, congestion, and a persistent cough. A recent CT scan revealed a large hematoma causing significant blood loss, threatening her with the prospect of invasive surgery. She's also endured multiple rounds of dialysis and a taxing medication regimen, leaving her weary and with little appetite.
Currently, Hannah is on short-term disability and medical leave from work, with an uncertain future as her medical journey continues.
We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. Your generous contributions will help cover the growing medical expenses and provide some relief during this incredibly challenging time. Your prayers for healing and peace are deeply appreciated.
