Stand with Greyson in His Fight

Our sweet boy is 7 years old, in February he was diagnosed with Acute Meyloid Leukemia. After 4 rounds of chemo and all of the battles that come with it, and a lot of prayer he got to ring his bell on June 26th. He was cancer free, he enjoyed what was left of his summer and was able to go back to school with his friends and return to what would be as close to normal as we could get after his diagnosis. We went for his monthly check up on Nov. 15, just 4 days after his new baby sister was born, and found out that his labs had come back abnormal. Follow up labs a few days later confirmed what his doctors already expected, his leukemia had relapsed after 5 short months of being home. The goal this time is for Greyson to have 2 rounds of chemo at UK to get him back into remission and then send us to Cincinnati for a bone marrow transplant where we’ll have to stay for a few months. His doctor said this will be about a year long battle and his chances of recovery are in the 60%. My heart as a mother is beyond broken. No child should have to fight cancer once, let alone twice. Greyson has a 2 year old sister at home as well who thinks the sun rises and sets with him and doesn’t understand why mommy and bubby can’t come home again. In an attempt to keep our family together for the stay in Cincinnati we’re asking for donations to help cover the costs of food and other necessities, and to help cover our mortgage so that we don’t also lose our home. Anyone who knows me, knows that asking for help is not something I take lightly or do often. But with a 7 year old fighting cancer, a very sad and confused 2 year old, and a 3 week old baby, we genuinely don’t know what else to do.
