On a dark night under relentless bombardment, I held my family close as we awaited an uncertain fate. The ground shook, walls crumbled, and we lost loved ones who would never return. There was no time to grieve—just two days later, we were forced to leave our home and live under pieces of fabric, enduring the scorching heat by day and the bitter cold by night.
By day, Ga/za’s blazing sun scorches my skin, and sweat drips down my face under a tent that offers little protection from the summer’s heat. By night, the cold attacks me, the wind sneaks through the tent’s edges, reminding me of how safe we once were under the roof of our home.
I was a student full of ambition, but war came like a storm, stealing our sense of security and halting my journey. My home was destroyed, my education disrupted—but my dreams never stopped.
We refused to let war strip us of our humanity. We started again, rebuilding with hope, sharing our bread and our tears. In Ga/za, we do not die—we are reborn from beneath the rubble. We had no time for sorrow alone; we had to rise from the ruins. In Ga/za, we do not seek pity—we seek support to rebuild our lives. We need you to stand with us.
