Stand with Gaza: Cancer Care Fundraiser
Donation protected
My name is Dr. Helen Louise Murphy, and I’m raising funds for cancer patients in occupied Palestine.
I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and as I prepare to begin chemotherapy, I know that losing my hair will be one of the many visible reminders of this journey. Rather than face it quietly, I’ve chosen to turn this moment into something powerful and purposeful.
I will be shaving my head in a public event in Cork City, Ireland to raise urgently needed funds for cancer patients in Gaza and the West Bank. While I am fortunate to have access to lifesaving treatment, many in Palestine are not. They face cancer with little or no access to essential medicines, medical equipment, or specialized care—often while enduring the ongoing challenges of occupation and blockade.
This event is my way of standing in solidarity with cancer patients in Palestine and transforming my personal struggle into meaningful action.
All proceeds will go to the Mariam Foundation in Nazareth—the first Arab non-profit organization dedicated to fighting cancer. The Mariam Foundation is a trusted and compassionate organization that provides comprehensive, 360-degree care for cancer patients and their families, supporting every aspect of their well-being throughout treatment. Often described as a second home for cancer patients, the Foundation offers a wide range of services, including both financial and emotional support, access to critical medical treatments not covered by insurance, and daily companionship for children undergoing treatment in hospitals. It has become a vital lifeline and the main address for hope and support for countless patients across Palestine.
Your support can help ensure that no one faces cancer alone—or without the care they deserve to survive.
I invite you to stand with me, to give what you can, and to help bring dignity, care, and hope to those who need it most.
