Hi, my name is Debbie and we're (Tony, Jeannie, and myself) currently trying to raise funds for Gabriel Castillo's, my step-son's, medical journey.

Back in May, 2023, Gabriel was diagnosed with an aggressive form of papillary thyroid cancer. He underwent an extensive neck dissection including multiple lymph nodes and a total thyroidectomy in August, 2023.

Unfortunately, the first procedure was not successful and it brought a host of other issues to light. His disease is metastatic and he needs to undergo another surgery along with subsequent treatments, likely for the remainder of his adult life.

We've recently sought second opinions and he has been referred/selected to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York for treatment. MSK is ranked 2nd amongst cancer hospitals in America.

His doctor and surgeon at MSK has over 30 plus years of experience, is a Harvard Medical School graduate, has awards and honors as America’s Top Doctor, is Chief, Head and Neck Service and has written numerous publications. Despite all these achievements he is friendly, knowledgeable and kind.

For those of you who know Gabriel, you know the type of young man he is. Gracious, kind and God fearing. A young man I proudly call my own son and would support to the ends of this earth.

Despite the consensus that no child or person should fall victim to or be deserving of this disease, the disease does not show prejudice to whom it chooses. However, we want to make sure that we are supporting our son through the entire process.
