Stand with Firefighter Vanan Jones

Good day, I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of a good friend and fellow coworker Philadelphia Firefighter; Vanan Jones. He is a member of Fire Class 198. Firefighter Jones was recently diagnosed with Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) squamous cell cancer. Van was sittiing at the watch desk one night in April and noticed a lump in his throat. He proceeded to make an emergency doctors appointment only to find out it was cancerous. Doctors found 3 lumps and tried to shrink the lumps. With no success, he was advised to immediately began radiation and chemotherapy treatment. Since then Van has been out of work and has exhausted all his sick and vacation time that he accrued. In previous years, Van has donated to the CAT bank fund, but this year a new system was put into place in which many members were not educated on how to donate. With that being said, Van is now out on FMLA and has not received a pay check in weeks! Through this process, Van has lost a significant amount of weight and is experiencing weakness and pain. It has been difficult for him to eat due to the location of his cancer. He would love to come back to work, but he can not physically perform his job duties. I’m asking for a small donation from anyone to help him out financially, so he can concentrate on healing mentally and physically!! His fight is not over and the Doctors will not know if the cancer is fully gone for another 2-3 months!! Please let’s help our brother out in his time of need!!
