Stand With Journalist Fanuel Kinfu – A Voice Silenced by Repression

This GoFundMe campaign is created by supporters and colleagues of Fanuel Kinfu, a journalist with Fentale Media, who was seriously injured in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, while attempting to escape unidentified civil armed security force during a period of heightened repression against independent media.

Fanuel’s injury is not an isolated incident—it reflects the grave risks journalists in Ethiopia face simply for doing their jobs.

What happened

During a security operation in Addis Ababa, Fanuel sustained serious physical injuries, particularly to his lower limb, requiring hospitalization, immobilization, and ongoing rehabilitation. He is currently unable to work and faces mounting medical and living expenses.
