Stand with Fa'ata Stott in Her Health Battle

Dear friends, family, and community members,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you today on behalf of my mother, Fa'ata Stott, with a humble request for support during a challenging time for our family. My name is Tatyanah Shassetz, and I have been fortunate to call Alaska my home for over 20 years.

My mother, Fa'ata, is an extraordinary individual who has dedicated her life to caring for others. As a single mother of three, she has been the sole provider for our family, demonstrating an unwavering work ethic and boundless empathy. For many years, she has worked as a CNA (Central Peninsula Hospital Day Surgery and Surgery Center of Kenai) selflessly tending to the needs of countless residents. Today, she is a small business owner, offering housekeeping services to doctors, nurses, and medical office buildings.

Recently, on June 27th, 2024, my mother experienced a sudden and severe health crisis. I received a distressing call from her, and I immediately rushed to her side. After a series of tests at the emergency room, a mass was discovered, obstructing her gallbladder and intestines. This blockage has disrupted the normal functioning of her liver, causing immense pain, itchiness, yellowing of the eyes, and bruising all over her body (Possible Cholongiscsrcinoma: Bile Duct Cancer) Unfortunately, the hospital where she sought initial treatment was unable to perform the surgery she urgently needs. As a result, she has been transferred to Providence in Anchorage, Alaska, for specialized care.

Compounding our concerns, my mother currently does not have medical benefits due to her entrepreneurship in the field of professional medical cleaning. Understandably, her health has forced her to put her work on hold, further exacerbating our financial situation. My mother is a fiercely independent individual who rarely asks for assistance, but the circumstances we find ourselves in have left us in a state of financial crisis.

With a heavy heart, I appeal to your generosity and kindness. I ask for your support in alleviating the medical financial burden that my mother is facing. Your contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us and would provide immeasurable relief during this trying time. We are grateful beyond words for any assistance you can provide, and we thank you from the depths of our hearts.
