Stand with Elizabeth: Overcoming Trauma and Injustice

Please read and share. This is my GoFundMe I've started. My name is Elizabeth and this is my story.

I am a sexual abuse survivor since age 5. I was assaulted by 8 different boys/men before this happened.

I ended up homeless and waited one year to get into affordable housing. It felt meant to be, because it was only 5 minutes away from where I had started therapy for the past abuse and assaults I had experienced.

A little over 2 months after moving to this new apartment, I was sexually assaulted twice by the maintenance manager there. He told me before leaving my apartment that he knew what he was doing could get him fired but said "I don't care, I'll just look for another job." I ended up leaving because I wanted to turn him in to make sure he didn't do this to anyone else but didn't feel safe doing so until I was moved out because he had keys to my apartment just like he does all the other women at the complex. Before I left, I found out an underage girl had been a victim, but never came forward and unfortunately still won't. I have been told by multiple women of unethical sexual behavior (telling women he's not married (which he is) and taking different women at different times into vacant apartments to have sex with them) and harrassing women and girls (coming on to them and making lewd sexual comments to them) against this man. I'm positive the little these women have told me is just the tip of the iceberg of what this man has been doing for years. Unfortunately I have been the only one to go to the police, but there wasn't enough evidence.

I contacted the county and state's attorney's office, but they told me the same thing. I contacted no less than 20 attorneys but none of them said they could help me. I told the manager and assistant manager at the complex. The managers told me that a woman years ago had come to them not long after she moved there, put her keys on the desk told them that this same man wouldn't leave her alone and that he'd raped her. I was shocked. Why was he still working here? They also told me there are numerous women who have a standing request not to have him come into their apartments for repairs (no requests of this kind were made toward the other two maintenance workers who work there). Right after I gave the managers a copy of the police report I thought now at the VERY LEAST they would fire him but they informed me, to my face that they would in fact not fire this man because they "didn't want to hurt his pride."

I went homeless to turn this man in so that he couldn't do this to anyone else. Now I'm in more debt and my life has been turned upside-down and I am again dealing with housing instability and now because I've had to leave the state have lost all of my health coverage. This man will keep his job and keep victimizing more girls and women. I'm in an impossible position to try and stop him. I have reached out to multiple advocacy groups and every place I can think of to legally stop this man, but according to them and everyone else, I've done everything possible. I am now left to pick up the pieces and am just asking for enough to make up for the money expended on gas, storage, moving, motel and flight fees.
