Hi, I'm Krystal. I'm not really sure how to go about this, but here we go. Last month, my 16-year-old son was an innocent victim of gun violence. While I can't go through many details for obvious reasons, I can share a little. His hip is broken, and he has a bladder injury which required emergency surgery. Miraculously, he is expected to make a full recovery and go on to live a great life. After just a few days of being home, finally getting comfortable and adjusted to his new normal, he started showing signs of an infection, so we got him to the ER. A few hours after running all the scans, blood tests, and ultrasounds, we were told he was in septic shock. ☹️ There's an infection somewhere near the surgery area inside and possibly an abscess. He has now been admitted to a PICU unit. His meds are working, and everything is starting to balance out again, thank goodness! But this means he will be in a specialty hospital that is an hour away, and we don't know for how long.

Donations will be used to supplement income on days where we haven't been or won't be able to work a full schedule, to help keep caught up on bills so we can focus on being there for Elijah and helping him through this journey, gas to get back and forth to the hospital and the various appointments he will have once he does come back home, sometimes maybe a quick meal, and anything left over will go towards helping us move our children to a safer place to live.
