Thirty years ago, my dear friend Edivania and I left our home country, Brazil, in search of a better life. We’ve faced challenges, built a life from the ground up, and made this country our new home.

Sadly, I’m not writing today to celebrate a milestone, but to ask for help.

Edivania has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that has spread throughout her body.

Despite her strength and courage, the illness has made it impossible for her to work and support herself.

Though this country has become her home, she now needs to return to Brazil to continue her treatment in a more sustainable and accessible way.

The costs of travel, transportation, and initial medical care are significant.
