We are reaching out with a hopeful heart to share the story of our dear friend Dottie Parrish, a dear friend, sweet sister, loving wife, grandmother, and fighter who is currently battling Stage 4 B-cell lymphoma (a form of stomach cancer). Thankfully, Dottie was able to have a procedure - but sadly, after the endoscopic surgery, the tumor has grown three times it’s original size.
Dottie has always been the one who shows up for everyone else, caring deeply for her family, community, friends, but especially her special-needs granddaughters.
But right now, she needs our support more than ever.
Dottie’s treatment has been intense and grueling. She undergoes chemotherapy every 21 days, along with regular PET scans and doctor visits to monitor her progress. Her last scheduled treatment is hopefully on June 7, 2026, marking what we pray will be the end of this brutal phase. After that comes the aftercare she will need to rebuild her health.
Throughout this journey, the mounting co-pays, medications, and other medical expenses have become overwhelming.
To protect her health and keep her focused on healing, her devoted husband has been shielding her from the full weight of these financial burdens. The stress alone spikes her blood pressure triggering other complications, so he’s carrying this load quietly to give her the peace she needs to fight.
The chemotherapy has taken a heavy toll on her body. Dottie now lives with painful neuropathy in her hands, feet, and legs, making even simple daily tasks difficult. She is unable to work, which has cut off a vital source of income for her family. To make matters worse, her mother is currently in hospice in another state, an emotional heartbreak that’s weighing on her soul during an already impossible time.
Dottie has poured so much love into her granddaughters, who rely on her for care and support. Right now, she can’t provide that in the ways she once did, and the family is struggling to keep everything together without her ability to contribute financially or physically.
We’re asking for your kindness and generosity to help ease this burden. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering medical bills, medications, co-pays, and the everyday needs that keep piling up while she fights for her life. Your support would mean the world to Dottie and her family, giving them breathing room to focus on healing rather than hardship.
If you can help, please consider contributing to Dottie’s Venmo, Zelle or her GoFundMe. Even sharing this story with friends, family, or your community can make a huge difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading Dottie’s story and for any compassion you can show. She’s a warrior with so much love left to give, her family, friends and community need her. Let’s help her get through this chapter stronger than ever.
With gratitude and hope,
Dottie’s family and friends.
